My Journey Began in the Mid-1970s

One of my earliest memories includes taking my first after-school tumbling class at the JCC in Chicago, Illinois.  While bouncing across the mat to Captain and Tennille’s “Love Will Keep Us Together,” that inner child’s awareness of the body and fascination with body movement inspired a lifetime of enthusiastic athletic endeavors, including participation in biking, dance, kickboxing, and competitive gymnastics and volleyball.  Although I never followed in my ballerina mother’s footsteps “sur les pointes” I found myself drawn to the softer, supportive expression of yoga in search of relaxation and momentary escape from the high tech world.  My exploration of many different styles of yoga has spanned the country, allowing me the privilege of practicing with incredible teachers such as Baron Baptiste, John Berg, Kent Bond, Gary Kraftsow, Jill Miller, James Morrison, Desirée Rumbaugh, Sianna Sherman, Ganga White and Tracey Rich.  The journey down this yogic path came full circle (but continues indefinitely) when I recently met an aunt on my mother’s side, Lin Chiung Chu, in Taiwan, and discovered she was a lifetime member of several international yoga associations and one of the first to bring yoga to the island more than 30 years ago!

Now It's Your Turn

My teaching schedule consists of private sessions and corporate health and wellness programs.  Based on my own experience with body mechanics and injuries from both physical activity and “corporate-itis,” I have a personal interest in pain management and injury prevention/recovery for the back, neck and shoulders.  I emphasize safe, gentle fitness routines to improve posture, release tension, increase flexibility and renew energy – especially important for those sitting at desks all day long.  My goal is to help you find balance in today's hectic world, and open your mind and body to a lifelong journey of strength, grace and wellness.
